• Joel is real close and is just about ready for beta testers

SC Education region in ScienceSim

• Fitz mentioned that the Earlham server is now up
• It is now running the Gromacs model from Johan. Woo Hoo! He said Johan's instructions just plain worked

Capturing Assets

• This was spurred by Intel Island possibly going away from Second Life
• Wilf mentioned tools MaxProxy and MaxPort, an open source effort, might work to capture assets.
• Paul and I came up with a design goal for this process
  • Capture Intel island assets and transport it to a Earlham region in ScienceSim and unpack it
  • recapture these assets in ScienceSim and transport it to SuperComputing Portal, and unpack it there. It will be useful to be able to demonstrate the capability of doing a roundtrip and documenting for those that follow how to do this
• Wilf also pointed out we need to be able to capture terrain info

Seminars in ScienceSim

• There are two in-word training sessions Wilf proposed that we'd earlier discussed
  • Topics
    • A tour of ScienceSim led by Mic
    • An intro to ExtSim led by Johan
  • these will be useful to podcast well
  • I think these are going to end up being key events providing enough info for folk to decide to start developing a ScienceSim model
  • I am working with Paul on an informal Joy of Computing series we plan to hold at 10 on Tuesdays
    • Paul and I will moderate

SC08 ScienceSim work

• It would be great if we could get a paper by Johan and someone developing a Science model using ExtSim. The time fuse for this is very short: April 3rd
• It is also time to start talking about Ed Program ScienceSim presentations for the at SC Ed program
• Also time to set up a ScienceSim BOF.
