ScienceSim Calendar

ScienceSim infrastructure

  • ScienceSim-wide upgrade to new stable version of OpenSim went very smoothly. It included an upgrade to Mono and a functional wind model.

Processing Load

  • The villin headpiece protein model Charlie provided is no longer stressing internal Intel models. They are ready for something more complex.
  • Lys/Cut is a larger lysozyme protein used for benchmarking composed of 23,207 atoms. It should produce more than the required load.
  • Another common benchmark is DPPC, a phospholipid membrane of 121,856 atoms.

Think Parallel

  • Paul Steinberg and I are ready for first blogcast of “Think Parallel”, with our first speaker, Dan Garcia, from UC Berkeley

Long Walk Grant

  • Broadening Engagement grant working with Navajo Nation to develop and deliver curricula focused on teaching parallel and concurrent concepts
  • I will be one of PIs on grant. Interns from CCC, and elsewhere, will be working with students on the Navajo reservation
  • Alice and Linden scripting language on OpenSim based as way of teaching concurrent and parallel programming very early (high school juniors and seniors)
                                             ... Tom Murphy
