ScienceSim Calendar

Metaverse U

  • Charlie, Mic, and I will are on the agenda for 12:15 on Friday
  • That which will be spoke to be tuned next Tuesday afternoon

Groups

  • Still shaking out. Security problems reported when groups have assets tied to them. Right now best to just use groups as way to IM everyone on a team.

Vehicles

  • Some have implemented vehicles by rolling their own LSL rather than using standard vehicle interface
  • These don't cross region boundaries

OpenSim development

  • Great passionate group of dedicated talented developers creating a work of unprecedented growth (expect standing ovation at Metaverse U OpenSim talk)
  • Frequent change to underlying protocols destabilizes projects resting on it
  • Light at end of tunnel is natural stabilization of interfaces when uber rapid growth slows
  • Not clear how long the tunnel is
  • Apache Foundation may be a good model

Voice

  • Joel digging into OpenSim and voice server code
  • Looking to tune voice quality and allow patching in of external lines
                                             ... Tom Murphy
